H2020 research program
Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme.
Nearly €80 billion of funding are available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) with the objective to take great ideas from the lab to the market.
Horizon 2020 couples research and innovation with emphasis on excellent science, industrial leadership and tackling societal challenges. The goal is to ensure Europe produces world-class science, removing barriers to innovation and making it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering innovation.
Horizon 2020 is open to everyone, with a simple structure that reduces red tape and time so participants can focus on what is really important. This approach makes sure new projects get off the ground quickly – and achieve results faster.

Filling out form C and the justification of resources can be a difficult task, especially for partners that are new to EU Research Projects.
Very often, thoughtless mistakes are made, such as claiming for management costs under R&D Work Packages, or claiming for P/M under non active Tasks, etc.
It is good practice to train your partners in completing Form C, highlighting the common mistakes that could occur.
For the Justification of resource, our experience suggests that this can be facilitated by providing partners with a template, which contains several examples justifying resources covering all the possible cases and scenarios.
We have used the template several times ourselves and is well received with compliments from various Project Officers, for the quality and clarity of financial reporting.
